What an automated check can and cannot tell you
Automated testing finds roughly 25–33% of the WCAG issues on a page. Everything we report is a real, machine-verifiable failure worth fixing. But a clean result is not conformance and not a clean bill of health: whether your alt text is accurate, whether the focus order makes sense, whether a screen-reader user can actually finish your checkout — none of that can be measured by a machine, and all of it is required.
This is a technical measurement, not a certification, not a compliance statement, and not legal advice. Full conformance needs a human expert audit.
How the check works
We open your URL in a real Chromium browser, wait for the page to settle, and run axe-core against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 level A and AA rule sets. The result is deterministic: the same page in the same state produces the same findings, every time. Nothing about your page is sent to a language model, and no part of the report is written by one.
We identify ourselves honestly. Requests arrive with the user-agent
TirelessLabsScanner/1.0 and a link to
a page explaining what the scanner is, so you can
allow it, rate-limit it, or block it deliberately. For this free check we
fetch the one URL you give us and the subresources that page loads —
nothing on this page crawls your site. (Crawling happens only under a
paid monitoring subscription, and only after the
site's owner has confirmed in writing that we may.)

Scheduled and multi-page scanning is the paid product, so it is not part of the free check. That is a deliberate line, not an oversight.
Common questions
Does a clean result mean my site is compliant?
No. Automated checks cover a minority of the WCAG success criteria — roughly 25–33% of the issues on a page. A clean automated result is not conformance, not a certification and not legal advice; full conformance needs a human expert audit.
Do you store the page you scanned?
We store the URL, the findings, and the CSS selectors of the failing elements. We do not keep a copy of your page or take screenshots.
Why did my site refuse the scan?
Plenty of hosts block traffic from datacentre networks by default, which
is where this scanner runs. If you get a refusal, allowing the user-agent
TirelessLabsScanner/1.0 usually fixes it.
